My Background

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Jim Gallagher and I am photographer and videographer who splits my life between North County Dublin and Kenmare in County Kerry, Ireland.

I am a self taught photographer and videographer and my journey started 10 years ago and Landscapes were the real draw for me. I love nothing more than being out before sunrise, or late in the afternoon waiting for sunset, in excitement and hope of what Mother Nature and the sunlight might give to me. Landscapes will always be my real passion but other forms of photography and recently videography have also provide such great challenges and satisfaction. The most enjoyable photography experiences for me have been the images I captured which were unplanned but presented themselves on the day and its this unknown source of magic which keeps me coming back for more and more.

I have also undertaken Commercial photography for clients such as IBM Ireland, the 3 Arena Dublin and the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and I really enjoy the process of taking the time to fully understand my clients needs and then delivering images which really showcase their businesses for them.

In more recent months I have been challenging myself with Street Photography and for an introvert that is a real challenge. Photographing candid shots of people going about their daily lives, this takes courage and plenty of practice.
